Proposal
I have started my project by doing mind maps and researching into a few different photographers. I had a look at Lee Friedlander who is a urban style photographer, Nick Knight and Mick Rock who both do fashion and portrait photography, Adam Burton who is a landscape photographer and the Duo Inez Van Lasmsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin who work together in fashion photography.
After looking at these photographers I decided I want to make part of my project about portraiture and fashion. Because in the modern world fashion has been updated quite a lot over the years and there are a lot of different materials that people didn't have years ago that we have now that make amazing fashionable clothes.
I have also decided to do part of my project about gay rights and gay people because gay people used to never be accepted by a lot of people and weren't allowed to marry or anything like that, but in the modern world that has all changed because there is a lot more gay people who aren't scared to show their sexuality and now gay people can get married and everything without it being frowned upon as much as it used to be.
Through the project I am going to do test shoots of the themes I chose on both film and digital cameras so that I can see whether film or digital works better for the photos that I want to take. I am also going to try and get costumes for my models to dress up in for part of my project to make it look more like a scene than a studio as I want to do a gay wedding shoot for the gay rights part of my project.
